I consider myself incredibly fortunate to be working as an artist at this age and stage of my life. It is a life I never envisaged for myself, thinking I had lost that dream when I was very young, and I'm so grateful to all those who have helped, encouraged and assisted me along the way. The dream has come true for me late in life and I always try to encourage artists to never give up, no matter how long or how difficult the journey. My mantra: 'there is always light in the darkness'.

Steffie Wallace is an Australian landscape artist who has been painting and exhibiting for the past 40 years. She lives in Melbourne where she studied Fine Art at university (majoring in painting and printmaking) and her work is held in collections both in Australia and overseas. 'I employ a limited colour palette to achieve my artistic effects and choose to portray the landscape in transitory weather situations dominated by dramatic skies. The main focus of my paintings is centred on atmospheric effects; changing light and cloud formations in particular'.
