HIGHLIGHTS
I've been most fortunate to have had some wonderful experiences come my way in the past decade of my artistic career. Four of the most notable are featured below. I could never have had achieved these goals without the faith, encouragement and support of family, friends and mentors in my life.
In 2022, I was one of 7 selected to be awarded studio space at the historic 'Billilla' mansion, owned by the Bayside Council in Brighton, Victoria. Managed by the Bayside Gallery, the Billilla Artists Studio Program proved a wonderful experience for the duration of that year, allowing me to produce a new calibre of work and build on all that had inspired me since I was a part-time student at the National Gallery Art School in the 1960s.
I read this novel when I was 16 and attending life drawing classes at night at the National Gallery School in Melbourne. It inspired me to become an artist...
I had always dreamed of exhibiting in Florence - a dream which became a reality in 2015 when I was almost 70. I was invited to participatate in the Xth Florence Biennale at the historic Fortezza da Basso. Imagine my amazement when I was awarded the Lorenzo il Magnifico Silver Medal for Painting! This was a huge honour and an unforgettable experience. It also made me realise that dreams do come true - never give up on your dreams...

In 2022, I was invited by, and participated in, an event, 'Finding the Sounds of Pastel', with New York concert pianist and composer, Margin Alexander. Other artists' work was also featured. My painting, 'Summer Moon, along with my profile, was exhibited via projection during the concert performance in NYC (live-streamed). The music was specially composed for this painting.
